After the Fall takes place in the alternative rendition of the year 2005, twenty years after the apocalyptic catclysm that originated in the pandemic caused by the introduction of dangerous boosters to the market, with time turning people into mindless beasts called Snowbreed. Players traverse the frozen ruins of Los Angeles as one of the few survivors hiding deep beneath the city's surface. To survive and fight the monsters, they use gadgets and weapons utilizing technology from the 1980s. Campaign in the game can be completed solo or with friends in online co-op mode. After the story is over, players gain access to additional missions, challenges and tasks.
